MVLA Community Scholars has helped over 100 students attend college and pursue the degree of their choice.

Desired Program Outcomes
- Enhance the economic mobility and career/life choices of underserved youth in our community.
- Students graduate with a strong sense of self-esteem, confidence in their life skills, and a life-long love of learning.
- Students graduate with a long-term positive relationship with one or more adults from their home community.
- Students exposed to different career opportunities through our Scholars Career Network.
- Create a self-sustaining program supported by a broad base of donors and volunteers, and strong, clear, and efficient program systems.
- Create a self-sustaining program supported by a diverse base of fundraising activities, including direct fundraising and earned income activities.
- The community feels a sense of ownership of the program, a stake in the success of its youth through the opportunities created for volunteerism.
- Mentors feel a sense of pride, accomplishment and personal growth.
- Committee volunteers feel a sense of personal/professional growth and accomplishment, and feel rewarded and energized.
